Games in December: Team Up With Marvel Superheroes Or Race On The Streets

STORY: Nicholas Yong
28 November 2022

Between the addictive Marvel Snap and collecting all 8 badges on Pokémon Scarlet / Violet, there isn’t enough time in a day to play video games. Worst still, December is usually when the big hitters get released. Best to plan your leave days now for a holiday gaming sesh.

Here are the biggest game releases to cap off a great 2022. Hope you get some new game titles or a brand new console in your Christmas stocking this year!

Marvel’s Midnight Suns
PC, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, X|S, Nintendo Switch

Release date: 2 December

Play as the original hero “The Hunter” complete with your own choice of superpowers, then team up with Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America and all your favourite MCU characters in this tactical turn-based RPG similar to the XCOM and Mario + Rabbids series. The game is set in a grim, supernatural side of the Marvel Universe, so expect to see familiar faces in a cool dark look.

Need for Speed: Unbound
PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox X|S

Release date: 2 December

Every time a new Need for Speed title rolls around, we hope that it is as good as the old-school Underground - Most Wanted games. Once again, the game shakes things up with a more stylised art style, but harks back to the golden era with a focus on street racing and complete car customisation.

Hello Neighbor 2
PC, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, X|S, Nintendo Switch

Release date: 6 December

Uncover your creepy neighbour’s secrets by sneaking around to discover what it is he is hiding. The game is powered by a neural network AI that learns from you and every other person playing the game, so the "neighbour" will adapt to players’ patterns and adjust his behaviour accordingly. Can you solve the mystery before he outsmarts you?

Choo Choo Charles

Release date: 9 December

What happens when you combine Thomas the Tank Engine, a creepy spider, and an evil clown? You get this crazy abomination that you need to shoot down in this game the devs are calling an “open-world survival horror train simulation game”. Expect to be horrified and excited In equal measure.

Dragon Quest Treasure
