Games In March: Wrestling, Dragons, And Princess Peach

March is shaping up to be another exciting month for gamers, but before we dive into the fun, let’s address the misprint mishaps of last month – Final Fantasy and Persona fans, we feel your pain.

It’s rare that a video game suffers from a disc misprint, but two top-tier games? Final Fantasy VII Rebirth had its game and data discs switched, and Persona 3 Reload players who want to play the game in English are forced to download the digital version, as the physical copy has mistakenly been printed only in Chinese.

Now, on to the main event! Here are our favourite video games releasing this month:

WWE 2K24
PC, PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Series S|X

Release date: March 8

You can finally play as new WWE Superstars Cody Rhodes and CM Punk in the latest version of this annual release, but there are plenty more features like Ambulance Matches and Backstage Brawls. Fans (like myself) will love the showcase mode, as you’ll be able to re-live 21 of the greatest Wrestlemania matches. Don’t forget to try the improved GM Mode too, where you’ll able to book your own WWE show.

Alone in the Dark
PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X

Release date: March 20

Do these main characters look familiar? Yup, actors Jodie Comer and David Harbour play Emily Hartwood and Edward Carnby respectively in this third-person horror adventure, where you’ll need to solve puzzles, fight hantu, and uncover the hidden truth behind Derceto Manor.

Dragon's Dogma 2
PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X

Release date: March 22

What better game to play in this Lunar Year of the Dragon! Like the original Capcom classic, you play as an Arisen, a hero whose heart is stolen by a powerful dragon. You can truly shape a character to your liking, with endless customisation (from how they look to their skill set), as you traverse a world four times bigger compared to the one in the first Dragon’s Dogma.

Princess Peach: Showtime
Nintendo Switch

Release date: March 22

For the first time in nearly 20 years, Princess Peach (of Super Mario fame) stars in her own video game. As the title implies, the princess can wield various weapons and utilise different skills based on the theatrical clothing she wears, and take on personas including Detective Peach, Swordfighter Peach, Patisserie Peach, and so many more.

Rise of the Ronin
PlayStation 5

Release date: March 22

This is the latest game by powerhouse developer Team Ninja of “Nioh” and “Ninja Gaiden” fame, so you know it’s going to be good. You play a nameless warrior during the final few years of feudal Japan in this open-world title, meeting historical figures in historic cities such as Edo, Yokohama, and Kyoto. Not only can you swing a samurai sword, you’ll also be able to use a gun!

South Park: Snow Day
PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch

Release date: March 26

The foul-mouthed boys of South Park are back in their first 3D video game. As with the impressive game “The Fractured But Whole”, you’ll play as the new kid in town caught up in the latest fantasy escapades of Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny. Jio up to three friends for co-op multiplayer, as you aim to save the world from an endless winter.
